ADD-ONS
Vitamins and Add-ons for Your IV Drip and What They Do
Choose from a variety of vitamin drip IVs and add-ons at United Medical Solutions for $20 Per add-on:

Hydroxocobalamin: Used to treat and prevent vitamin B12 deficiency anemia, where you have
low levels of this vitamin in your body. Your body requires vitamin B12 to make red blood cells. You can
get it from your food or supplements, but sometimes there may not be enough vitamins in what you
eat. Hydroxocobalamin may also play a key role in combating fatigue, muscle weakness, numbness &
irritability.
Pyridoxine (B6): Vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine) is important for normal brain development and for
keeping the nervous system and immune system healthy.
N-Acetyl-Cysteine: It acts directly as a scavenger of free radicals, especially oxygen radicals. NAC is
a powerful antioxidant
Ascorbic Acid: You need vitamin C for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body.
It helps the body make collagen, an important protein used to make skin, cartilage, tendons, ligaments,
and blood vessels.
Dexpanthenol (B5): Helps the recovery process from surgery quickly. Dexpanthenol aids in the
production of energy for the body cells to perform better during the post-surgical days. Dexpanthenol
also helps strengthen scar tissue as well as maintain skin softness & elasticity.
Magnesium Chloride: Can effectively enhance the function of the muscular and nervous systems.
Your body needs magnesium to perform over 300 biochemical reactions necessary to sustain life.
Magnesium is also a natural calcium channel blocker that helps reduce the workload of the heart.
Alpha-Lipoic Acid: Benefits include the reversal of oxidant damage associated with aging.
Eliminating unwanted toxins while restoring other antioxidant levels. It can also reduce blood sugar
levels & slow cell damage caused by free radicals. It has also been shown to improve diabetic peripheral
neuropathy.
L-Arginine: May be effective at lowering blood pressure, reducing the symptoms of angina and PAD (
the narrowing or blockage of the vessels that carry blood from the heart to the legs.) and treating
erectile dysfunction due to a physical cause.
L-Carnitine: Research shows that this amino acid L-Carnitine encourages testosterone production. It
also helps reduce visceral belly fat, the kind that surrounds your vital organs and potentially leads to
fatty liver disease and other serious health conditions.

L-Glutamine: Supplementing with L-Glutamine allows your muscles to fight and push a bit further.
This boosts your strength and helps repair your skeletal muscles. A study found that glutamine
supplementation makes it possible to recover quicker from intense weight training sessions because it
improves muscle hydration.

L-Glutathione: Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that may help protect the body from disease,
slow cancer progression, and improve insulin sensitivity, among other benefits. Some people swear by
its anti-aging properties, while others say that it can treat autism, increase fat metabolism, and even
prevent cancer.

L-Taurine: Helps support nerve growth. It might also benefit people by lowering blood pressure and
calming the nervous system. It has prevented weight gain, reduced fasting blood glucose and markers of liver damage, increased bone density in the spine and legs, and improved the health of their immune
systems as well.

L-Lysine: appears to help the body absorb calcium, and it plays an important role in the formation of
collagen, a substance important for bones and connective tissues including skin, tendons, and cartilage.

Zinc Chloride: helps in strengthening the immune system and provides relief from flu and cold
symptoms. It also helps in protein synthesis, wound healing as well as the growth and maintenance of
overall health.

L-Proline: The functions of Proline include helping form collagen, regenerating cartilage, forming
connective tissue, repairing skin damage, healing the gut lining, and repairing joints.

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS
After care instructions for IV infusion therapy:
-
Apply pressure to site for 2 minutes after IV has been removed.
-
Keep Band-aid or gauze w/coban in place for 1 hour.
-
Cold packs and arm elevation can be used for any bruising, pain relief, and to decrease swelling at the IV site.
-
Swelling should be significantly reduced in 24 hours.
-
Post IV infusion symptoms are uncommon. Dehydration is the cause of most symptoms and concerns.
-
We encourage drinking at least 1-2 16ox bottles of water after your infusion.
-
If enough water is not consumed, you may experience any of the following symptoms:
-
Headaches, nausea, joint pain, blurred vision, cramping (GI and Muscular), mental confusion, or disorientation.
Most patients experience overall improvements:
-
Fast treatment for dehydration
-
Increased energy levels
-
Improve mental clarity
-
Overall feeling of well-being
Clients commonly report one of two patterns after IV infusion therapy:
-
Patients generally feel better right away. Due to a busy lifestyle, many people are chronically dehydrated and deficient in vitamins and minerals causing them to not feel well. Once the patient is hydrated and the nutrients are replaced, their symptoms improve quickly.
-
Patients sometimes feel tired or unwell. These patients are generally in the process of detoxifying. When toxins are pulled out of tissues, they re-enter the blood stream. They remain poisons, but they are now on their way OUT instead of on their way IN. Even when patients do not feel well at this stage, the process is one of healing and cleansing. After this period, an overall improvement in one’s sense of well-being is generally reported.
Call (Your Clinic) or your Primary Care Doctor for any of the following symptoms get progressively worse or you become uncomfortable with:
Significant swelling over the IV site - Redness over the vein that is increasing in size.
-
Pain in the vein/arm that is not improving over an 8–12-hour period
-
Headache that does not resolve with increased hydration or over-the-counter pain relievers like aspirin.
-
Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen
If you feel like you are having a life-threatening emergency, please call 911.
